When you tour the Outer Banks by air on an OBX helicopter ride, you’ll have the option of seeing the Corolla Lighthouse, or the Hatteras and Bodie Island lighthouses. If you’ve vacationed on the Outer Banks, you’ve probably visited at least one of these famous lights, but seeing them from the air will give you a whole new perspective.
Dolphins, sea turtles, wild horses, and an abundance of birds all call the Outer Banks home... our Robinson helicopter gives you great views along the ocean with the chance to see shipwrecks and sea life (and of course the Wright Brothers’ Monument) creating an unforgettable experience!
Helicopter Charters

OBX Helicopters Tour Packages and Pricing
All tour prices are per trip, not per person, we can take up to three passengers per tour.
Discovery Tour: $159 approximately 10-12 minutes
($53 per person with three people).
This introductory tour takes you out to Jennette's Pier on the oceanfront for a glimpse of the beach before heading back to Roanoke Island.
Please note: This tour is offered during summer season and is based on availability.
Beach Tour: $269 Approximately 20 minutes ($89 per person with three people)
With this tour, we give you a choice of heading south towards Wanchese Fishing Village, Bodie Island Lighthouse and Oregon Inlet OR go north to Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Brothers First Flight Monument with the chance to see shipwrecks. Both routes include a stretch along the ocean with the chance to see marine life including dolphins, turtles and schools of fish!
Deluxe Tour: $369 Approximately 30 minutes ($123 per person with three people)
This approx. 50 mile tour includes both the northern and southern routes of the Beach Tour above with an extended cruise along the oceanfront - more opportunities to spot marine life and shipwrecks along the way.
Wild Horse and Lighthouse Tours: $725 Approximately 1.1 hours ($241 per person with three people)
This premium deluxe tour offers you a choice of heading north to Corolla to see the wild horses and the Corolla Lighthouse including the four wheel drive villages of Swan Isle and Carova OR head south to view two lighthouses (Bodie Island and Hatteras), beautiful Hatteras Island beaches, several shipwrecks (the Oriental and Richmond) and the chance to see plenty of sea life.
Ocracoke Island Tour: Approx. $1137 approximately 1.7 hours
($379 per person with three people).
This premium deluxe tour heads further south past Hatteras, and includes a third lighthouse and a view of the wild ponies of Ocracoke! See where Blackbeard the pirate was captured! Continue a bit farther and check out the ghost village of Portsmouth Island, an abandoned fishing village if you like.
The above rates are not per person, but per trip for one to three passengers...bring a couple of friends and share the trip cost! Total combined weight cannot exceed 550 pounds (excluding pilot). The maximum individual seat weight cannot exceed 300 pounds; we must do a weight and balance calculation in our office for each trip which requires each passenger to step on a scale so please be accurate when stating your weight.
All flights are subject to weather conditions. If the weather doesn't allow us to fly, we will work with you to reschedule at your convenience. Our flights are based on route, all flight times are approximate.

We offer the perfect platform for all of your videography and photography needs. For professional photographers (if arranged ahead of time) we can take any passenger door off, offering glare-free views. The helicopter also offers the flexibility of getting up close and personal to the subject or area being photographed, with the ability to slow down, circle, or hover - offering a great opportunity to capture the shot
